NOAA-reception 137 MHz poes / decoding / plotting :
NOAA-RECEPTION / DECODING / PLOTTING :
Connect a 137 MHz receiver with 40 kHz bandwidth + antenna (eg QHA or Turnstile) into the PC's soundcard
PC with a soundcard , if possible with a serial port (for remote control)
Record the signal of the NOAA weather satellite as a wave-file , use decode software.
Difficult !? Just try.
Currently active NOAA-satellites with a APT-signal (status on 19.07.2014) :
NOAA-15 137,6200 MHz
NOAA-18 137,9125 MHz
NOAA-19 137,1000 MHz
See menu-item actual recordings for my recently NOAA recordings.
These recordings are made with a 137 MHz QFH-antenna made from white PVC-pipe vertical 32mm , spacers 16mm
and copper Brake Line Tube 4.8mm.
For antenna-dimensions see the site from John Coppens , http://jcoppens.com/ant/qfh/calc.en.php.
NOAA19 12.07.2014 13:38UTC received with PA1PJ QFH-antenna, receiver R2FX,
recorded with WxToimg software and decoded with Satsignal software.
